In short
No accounts, no advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking scripts on any public page. Visits are counted on Mainspace’s own server, in aggregate. Forms store only what you type into them. Nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
Visiting the site
When a page loads, your browser sends one measurement event to Mainspace’s server: the event type (a page view), the page path, and a session identifier. The server stores only a keyed hash of that identifier, so daily totals can count distinct sessions without keeping anything that names a person. Your IP address is not stored with events, and no advertising identifiers exist.
Following a product link passes through a Mainspace redirect that records the destination and the time, with no session identifier, before sending you on. Mainspace never sees what you do on the brand’s site.
Fonts, scripts, and images on public pages are served from Mainspace’s own domain. The site’s security policy blocks third-party scripts on reader pages.
Cookies
Public pages set one cookie, and none for advertising.
- Measurement
ms_sessionholds a random identifier for one hour so repeated page views count as one session in daily totals. It is not readable by scripts, is not shared with anyone, and does not identify you.- Owner sign-in
- The private Studio and its sign-in page use session cookies from the sign-in provider. These exist only for the site’s owner and are never set on public pages.
There is no consent banner because there is nothing to opt into. No tracking, advertising, or cross-site cookies exist.
Abuse protection
To limit automated abuse, the server counts requests per client over short windows. The client key is a keyed hash of the connecting IP address; the raw address is not stored, and counters expire within a few hours.
Forms
A product submission stores the name and optional email you enter, the product name, your message, and your evidence links. A correction stores the statement at issue, your proposed correction, evidence links, and an optional reply email. An email address is used only to follow up on that submission or correction and is never added to a mailing list.
When a correction is accepted, the corrected statement and its date may appear in a product’s public history. Your name and email are not part of it. Do not submit confidential or sensitive personal information.
Mainspace does not currently operate a newsletter or product alerts and collects no subscriber data. If a subscription is ever offered, it will use double opt-in and describe its own terms at the point of sign-up.
Retention
Our retention targets are 90 days for raw measurement events and 24 months for daily totals. Periodic cleanup removes older records; deletion may occur after these targets. Abuse-protection counters expire within hours. Submissions, corrections, and editorial audit records are kept for as long as they document how a product record came to say what it says.
Hosting
Mainspace runs on Vercel’s hosting platform, which handles connection data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and defend against abuse under its own terms. Records are stored with managed database and file-storage providers acting on Mainspace’s instructions.
Who is responsible
Mainspace is operated by Jardin de Vera Inc., the controller for the personal data described on this page.
Your choices
To have a submission or correction you sent deleted, or to ask what Mainspace holds about a message you sent, email us from the address you used. Mainspace is not directed at children under 16 and has no accounts.
Changes
This page is dated at the top and updated whenever the site’s data handling changes. Questions can go to the contact page.
